Vertigo Dance Company’s Birth of the Phoenix by Noa Wertheim,first performed in 2004, is a work of enduring power and beauty, dazzling in its sensual, spiritual force.
The Birth of the Phoenix is a project that establishes audiences in the fields of art and culture, is suitable for the guidelines of the period.
The dance takes place outdoors and performed inside a geodesic bamboo dome. This eco-dance production is a dynamic site-specific creation adapting to the qualities of each performance-site where audience and performers are able to immediately experience time and space of the surrounding environment.
The dome itself made of bamboo placed in a central place becomes a sustainable environmental statue, attracting a local audience and the ages to come and consume relevant art for time and place. This journey of the rebirth was first presented in Jerusalem next to the ancient walls of the City, the Tower of David overlooking.
As per today also , The Birth of the Phoenix carries compassion and healing of the open wound of the corona epidemic, calls for reunification the ancient connection between man and the environment. It is a work of enduring power and beauty, dazzling in its sensual, spiritual force., there is a sense of renewal, energy and exultation.
This dynamic creation, touches the dialogue between man and nature, and changes in every environment in which it operates, natural or urban, while listening to the heartbeat of the heart, place, time and seasons. Like the Phoenix, it appears and disappears, until it is rebuilt in another incarnation.
