Shavim is a program which was developed as part of a partnership between the Aviram Family Foundation and the IDF Disabled People’s Organization.  It was created in response to reserve soldiers who are coping with trauma but are not recognized as such by the authorities. The 15 soldiers meet for eight days of activity, once a week. Individual and group therapy form part of the therapeutic process with a family member, with the aim of equipping the person dealing with trauma with the tools, resources and skills to make the transition between the prolonged periods of combat and the regular home environment. The program includes Vertigo’s unique treatments, as well as meetings with an occupational psychologist and with support from the NATAL Association.
